Who, what, when, how and why?

Officially licensed by the Vermont Cannabis Control Board as a Tier 1 Outdoor Cannabis Cultivator, Hidden Leaf Homestead aims to help people in VT obtain quality, small craft, cannabis through safe and legal means.

Our Story

My name is Myra and I was inspired by friends and family to start growing cannabis. I didn’t realize it, but the seed had been planed decades ago as an idea in my mind. I just never thought it would be possible until I started out helping my husband, a disabled veteran, grow his own personal use cannabis to help manage several medical conditions. He suffers from Complex PTSD and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. These two conditions cause an endless cycle of physical and emotional pain that feed into each other. Cannabis provides him relief that his pharmaceutical medication cannot on its own.

When the opportunity came about to obtain a cultivator license for the newly legalized recreational use market in Vermont it made perfect sense to me. I can grow enough to keep my husband supplied, more to help others, and start a career that allows me to stay at my husband’s side and do something I enjoy! There are so many people that prefer not to be in a “medical use” database, are distrustful of doctors, and/or fear the stigma that comes along with cannabis use; particularly in the case of veterans. I’ve seen the benefits cannabis can have on a person’s life and I want to be a part of making access available and be an advocate for the industry.

Our homestead had started out with raising our own chickens and growing our own veggies to help supplement our grocery budget and get away from relying so heavily on industrial farms for sustenance. Over the course of this journey we plan to offer not only cannabis, but also eggs, veggies, and more from our little farm.

“The legalization of marijuana is not a dangerous experiment – the prohibition is the experiment, and it has failed dramatically, with millions of victims all around the world.”
